Santa Luzia Sanctuary
The Sanctuary stands at the top of the hill that frames Viana do Castelo. It is visible from miles away, as if welcoming those entering the city.
Santa Luzia Elevator
The Santa Luzia Elevator was inaugurated on June 2, 1923. Overcoming a height difference of 160 meters in six to seven minutes, the journey on the Santa Luzia Elevator is the longest of all the funiculars in the country.
Gil Eannes Ship
The Hospital Ship, built in Viana do Castelo in 1955, supported the Portuguese cod fishing fleet that operated in the Newfoundland and Greenland banks. Today it has been transformed into a Museum Center and Sea Center.
Misericórdia Church
